Selected concepts · Complimentary session · Written release

Help me build the work I want to show.

For selected subjects and concepts, I offer a complimentary photography session in exchange for permission to use chosen images in my portfolio and marketing.

What this feels like

This is a real photography session, not a contest and not a promise that every applicant will be selected. I use these sessions to create specific work that is missing from my current portfolio.

If the concept, subject, schedule, and location are a good match, we agree in writing on what I may use, what you receive, and what remains private before the session takes place.

This can work well for

  • People comfortable appearing in public portfolio and marketing materials
  • Individuals, couples, families, and selected creative concepts
  • Disabled, transgender, LGBTQ+, older, and camera-shy participants
  • People who can communicate reliably during planning
  • Applicants whose look or story fills a current portfolio need

Ways we can approach it

Choose the kind of story you need to tell.

These are starting points, not rigid boxes. We can combine ideas or shape the service around the people, purpose, and setting involved.

01

Portrait concepts

Lifestyle, fine-art, identity-affirming, glamour, family, or personal-story concepts selected for current portfolio needs.

02

Headshot and branding concepts

Specific professions, personal brands, or workplace stories that broaden the range of people represented in my work.

03

Community and advocacy

Selected visual stories connected to disability, LGBTQ+ life, caregiving, faith, nonprofit work, or local community.

What you can expect

Clear, calm guidance.

The details change from one service to another. The respect, patience, and communication do not.

01

No session fee

Selected participants receive the planned session without paying a photography session fee.

02

Real usage rights

A signed model release allows agreed photographs to appear on my website, social media, printed marketing, and portfolio.

03

Selected openings

Availability depends on the concepts and people I currently need to add to the portfolio.

How the process works

No mystery about the next step.

We make the important decisions before the work begins, then keep communicating until the finished photographs are delivered.

01

Submit your interest

Tell me who would participate, what kind of session interests you, your general availability, and why the idea matters to you.

02

Confirm the match

If the idea fits a current need, we discuss the concept, location, wardrobe, accessibility, finished images, and usage rights.

03

Sign before photographing

The model release and session agreement are completed before the session so neither of us has to guess about the arrangement.

What is covered

A clear agreement before you commit.

The exact scope belongs in writing. These are the practical pieces I address when planning and quoting this service.

There is no photography session fee for an approved portfolio-building session. Participation requires the agreed model release, and openings are limited to the concepts I am actively building.

Planned into the service

  • A planning consultation for selected participants
  • The agreed on-location photography session
  • Clear posing, expression, and accessibility guidance
  • A selected number of professionally edited digital photographs
  • A written model release and session agreement
  • No required purchase beyond the agreed exchange

Questions people often have

Before you reach out.

If your question is more personal or specific, use the contact page. I would rather answer it clearly than leave you guessing.

Does everyone who applies receive a free session?

No. I select people and concepts according to what is currently missing from the portfolio, available dates, location, and whether the arrangement is a good fit.

Can I keep every photograph private?

Not for this particular program. Public portfolio and marketing permission is the exchange for the complimentary session. A regular paid session is the better choice when privacy is required.

Will I receive finished photographs?

Yes. The number and type of finished images will be written into the agreement before the session.

Ready for the practical details?

See the work or tell me what you have in mind.

The galleries show selected past work. When you contact me, include the service, preferred location, general timing, and what you want the finished photographs to do for you.
